We empower agri-food and retail SMEs through Renewable Energy Communities. Accelerating sustainable energy transition across Türkiye, Greece, and Italy.
AGRECs-BOOST is an EU project aimed at accelerating the green transition of SMEs in the agri-food and retail sectors through Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). Operating across Türkiye, Greece, and Italy, the project addresses challenges such as high energy costs, limited access to renewable energy, and inefficiencies in self-consumption models.
Developing a scalable REC model enabling SMEs to jointly produce, share, and optimize energy.
Establishing at least 10 RECs, targeting 30% of participating SMEs' energy needs from renewable sources.
Proposing an innovative Digital Voucher System (DVS) framework for trading surplus energy credits among REC members and using them for agricultural inputs.
Achieving 20% reduction in energy costs through optimized self-consumption and energy sharing models.
Promoting best practice sharing and policy alignment between Türkiye, Greece, and Italy.
Supporting SME participation in RECs through technical guidance, legal consultancy, and financial mechanisms.
